Congress to investigate DHS’ ammo purchase

Following reports of ammunition shortages from Border Patrol Agents, Congressman Jason Chaffetz (Chairman – Subcommittee on National Security) and Congressman Jim Jordan (Chairman – Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Job Creation and Regulatory Affairs) are conducting an official investigation into the procurement, use and distribution of ammunition by the Department of Homeland Security (particularly the US Border Patrol.) Hopefully this will lead to Border Patrol Agents finally receiving enough ammunition both for quarterly qualifications and to maintain proficiency, especially given the recent increases in cross-border illegal traffic.
